Difficult Joys brings together five abstract painters, Sinéad Aldridge, Patricia Doherty, Mary Theresa Keown, Majella Clancy & Louise Wallace, from the painting collective HERmetics_in_the_studio, with the intention to explore the relationship between paper works and paintings. They are interested in contrasting the qualities of drawing and the painted object by stating through understating. They foreground process and the ways of thinking that lie inside abstraction to convey ideas around not knowing. Their approaches interweave and intersect with one another in a kind of self-other-awareness of the difficult joys in making art. Exhibition at Strule Arts Centre Omagh, Co. Tyrone.
